Saturday, February 1

Looking for something that will get the kids out of the house that’s equal measures of educational and fun? Actually, we’ve got two of them happening on Saturday, February 1.

First up, there’s Winter Carnival & Super Science Saturday at Montgomery School in Chester Springs. You’d think the teachers there get their fill of kids Monday through Friday, but apparently not – they’re hosting a fun-filled Saturday event from 11am – 1pm, filled with hands-on activities and face painting for younger kids, and science experiments for the older ones. Event is free, but if you register ahead of time, you’ll be entered into a drawing.

For a double-dip of fun, add a two-hour evening event– Frozen Fun at the Delaware Museum of Natural History in Delaware (4840 Kennett Pike, Wilmington, 19807; 302-658-9111) You can meet your favorite Ice Queen and Ice Princess, learn how to freeze water, join a snowmaking contest, and (for a few bucks extra) get frozen treats from Cajun Sno. Event is 6-8pm; tickets are $16 for non-members ages three and up; $6 for ages 1-2.
